While that usually would intimidate me a bit - I have nothing against insanely long books story-wise ( The Stand is one of my favorites of all time), I just shy away from the time investment - I can honestly say that I never once found myself hoping things would speed up or that I wished I was done with it already. It’s long as hell, clocking in at nearly 800 pages, so you should go into it expecting a lengthy journey ahead of you. Moral of the story?
